Project Lead Engineer - EES Programs

Key Responsibilities:
On the assigned projects:
  • Represent EES in all project technical forums
  • Report project status
  • Identify support required on projects
  • Specification impact analysis (overall impact sheet)
  • SCR impact assessment
  • Creation and management of WPs
  • Resource forecasting consolidation
  • Bike allocation
  • DPT progress reporting
  • Ensure all project related meetings are scheduled, attended and monitored consistently.
  • Ensure accurate project reporting to stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate potential schedule conflicts.
  • Maintain a high-level timing plan to drive cadence of the programs.
  • Drive progress of assigned projects towards completion, using appropriate judgement in determining when to escalate issues.
  • Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities, working with the project team to determine mitigation and appropriate contingency plans.
  • Continually monitor the program activities and take appropriate action to keep all projects on plan.
Contribute to the development and improvement:
  • Tools & Methods for project timing management
  • Develop and continually improve processes for efficient resource scheduling across multiple projects covering our current support, New Technology Roadmap and New Model
  • Introduction Program (NMIP).
  • Ensure processes/procedures are in place to ensure deliverables and milestones are being met on a day-to-day basis by the teams.
  • Agree project metrics with key stakeholders.
  • Track best practices within the project planning community.
To undertake and assist with duties as required by your Manager.

Education & Qualifications:
BEng or MEng in Technical subject with modules covering project planning, design lifecycles etc or equivalent and relevant experience.

  • Proficient scheduling resource for multiple cross functional teams on multiple projects.
  • Proficient with Microsoft project or similar.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Experience in workflow analysis, optimisation and continual improvement.
  • Knowledge of full Systems Engineering lifecycle / V model
  • Previous experience of working within an automotive / manufacturing / industrial environment.
  • Experience with PREEvision
  • Knowledge of agile and waterfall methodologies.
