Vehicle Diagnostics Engineer

Emotiv is recruiting a Vehicle Diagnostics Engineer for an established automotive technology business. This is a hands-on reverse engineering and technical ownership role focused on turning complex vehicle data into accurate, reliable diagnostics used in real-world fleet and maintenance applications.
The opportunity
You will own the vehicle diagnostics capability behind a deployed vehicle connectivity platform. The work centres on capturing and analysing manufacturer-specific data, understanding how different makes, models and variants present diagnostic information and fault codes, and creating the decoding definitions and vehicle profiles used in the field.
IT & Service Delivery Engineer
We are recruiting an experienced IT & Service Delivery Engineer to join a small, multi-skilled technology team supporting business-critical platforms and corporate IT services across on-premises, virtualised and AWS environments.
You will monitor and maintain service availability, investigate incidents, manage infrastructure and support the continued improvement of secure, resilient systems. The role covers Linux and Windows servers, cloud services, networking, containers, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, monitoring and automation.
Key responsibilities:
Diagnose and resolve infrastructure, application and network incidents
Administer production Linux and Windows Server environments
Support AWS, VMware and containerised services
Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
Maintain monitoring, alerting, backups, patching and security controls
Develop scripts and automation using Bash, Python or PowerShell
Complete root-cause analysis and implement lasting improvements
Produce clear technical documentation and operational reports
Essential experience:
Strong production Linux administration skills
Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy
Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration
Good knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPNs and firewalls
Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerised services
Scripting or automation experience
A methodical, evidence-led approach to troubleshooting
Full UK driving licence
Experience with AWS, VMware, databases, Ansible, monitoring tools, Palo Alto firewalls, Veeam or security platforms would be advantageous.
