Virtual Build and Test Operations is a growing team within the wider Vehicle Architecture Vehicle Engineering (VAVE) department. We are uniquely positioned to support the transition of our products from the virtual world to the physical world. As well as owning and operating a world class Virtual Series Framework, we are also on a journey to drive optimisation and transformation into the overall companies Verification and Validation strategy. Our approach is to focus on our ability to Virtually Build and Test our products with greater speed, confidence and coverage than ever before, and to unlock all of the time, cost, quality and sustainability benefits associated with increased virtual capabilities.
What to Expect
Geometric Data is key to the success of the physical and virtual vehicle validation. It is the foundation on which our vehicles are created.
As a CAD Quality Analyst, you will be a core part of the delivery of the Virtual Series for our vehicle programmes. You will have the opportunity to ensure we deliver exceptional products to our customers by proactively identifying potential quality issues in our Engineering Data (CAD), early in the development phase, so we can resolve them early.
A key focus will be driving the compatibility of our CAD.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Day to day, you will have the privilege of working on our future vehicles. You will be accountable for:
- Inspecting the geometry to identify potential issues.
- Ensuring issues are understood by Engineers and captured in a clear and understandable way.
- Working with cross functional teams, presenting in CAD reviews, explaining issues and supporting resolution where required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Proficiency with PLM and CAD tools, including Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE (PLM), CATIA V5 (CAD), and Siemens Teamcenter (PLM).
- Strong technical understanding of automotive architectures, systems, or commodities.
- Strong communication skills, able to simplify complex information clearly.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Comfortable working independently and seeking support when required.
- Process minded with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to manage workload and deliver within agreed timelines.
- Technically curious and proactive in learning new tools, processes and skills.
- Experience in CAD quality checking, digital mock up reviews, or virtual validation, with the ability to identify issues, assess impact, and document findings clearly.
