Finance Transformation Lead

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Transformation Lead to support the Finance Director in delivering a significant business and finance transformation programme. This role will play a key part in reviewing, improving and modernising financial processes, systems and controls across the organisation.
The successful candidate will bring extensive senior finance leadership experience, ideally having previously operated as a Finance Director, Financial Controller, or equivalent senior finance professional. Whilst the programme includes the implementation and optimisation of new ERP and finance systems, this is not a technical IT role. The focus is on business process improvement, finance transformation, stakeholder engagement and ensuring that systems support best-practice financial operations.
This opportunity would suit an experienced finance professional with a strong track record of leading change within manufacturing, engineering, industrial or similar operationally focused organisations.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Finance Director to drive finance and business transformation initiatives.
• Review and redesign finance processes to improve efficiency, accuracy and control.
• Lead finance workstreams associated with ERP and business system changes.
• Ensure finance processes are aligned with wider business objectives and operational requirements.
• Identify opportunities for automation, simplification and continuous improvement.
• Support the implementation and optimisation of finance and business systems.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders across finance, operations and leadership teams.
• Establish robust governance, controls and reporting frameworks throughout the transformation programme.
• Manage organisational change within the finance function and support user adoption of new processes.
• Provide guidance and leadership to finance teams during periods of change.

Skills & Experience

• Significant senior finance leadership experience, ideally at Finance Director, Financial Controller or equivalent level.
• Proven experience delivering finance transformation, process improvement or business change programmes.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, reporting, planning and operational finance.
• Experience supporting or leading ERP implementations or major finance system upgrades.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to influence at board and executive level.
• Strong project and change management capabilities.
• Commercially minded with the ability to balance strategic objectives and operational delivery.

Desirable Experience

• Experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering or similar operational environments.
• Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, SAP or comparable ERP platforms.
• Previous involvement in finance shared services, business integration or large-scale transformation projects.
• Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
