Key Performance Indicators
- Applicants should be self-starting and motivated to deliver class leading vehicle efficiency.
- Strong technical background, with proven experience in engineering optimisation and data analysis.
- Experienced in all aspects of road load analysis for efficiency calculations
- Experience with engineering simulation tools and drawing conclusions from simulation results.
- Experience of systems engineering / integration - from target setting and decomposition through to component and system performance validation.
- Ensure the interests of the kinetic energy attribute are represented in cross departmental meetings.
- Confident at presenting to all levels within the company
- Support the KEM Team's customers with road load predictions and simulations.
- Responsible for overseeing physical road load coast down tests.
- Any other reasonable tasks requested by the Kinetic Energy Management Chapter Lead.
- Desirable: experience of vehicle and/or component testing.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chapter Lead Kinetic Energy Management, the successful candidate will be required to support vehicle programmes as the Road Load Lead Engineer.
Responsibilities will include:
- Generate Road Loads, using KEM Team Tools, to support engineering and certification gateways.
- Responsible for generating road loads to support emerging Regulation 154 / WLTP Markets
- Review and approve PACNS with KEM relevant content.
- Actively engage with Test & Development to specify KEM Team requirements for Prototype Vehicles and Test Rig Access
- Own, develop and communicate, to all stakeholders, plans to ensure road load certification that meet programme timing.
- Point of contact for programme and certification teams on KEM Related Matters
- Support process, tools & methods development
- Support generation of road loads for current car line up and new model programmes
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Applicants should be educated to Degree level (ideally with a focus on Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering) with relevant industrial experience.
- Good understanding of vehicle engineering and architectures
- Applicants should be self-starting and motivated to deliver class leading vehicle efficiency.
- Experienced in road load analysis techniques and tools
- Highly numerate with ability to analyse large, complex data sets.
- Good understanding of engineering physics
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to form cross-departmental relationships.
- Good planning and programme management skills
