Manufacturing Assembly Process Engineering focuses on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised processes for assembling the component parts and subassemblies required for a finished product including:
- Application of Lean Manufacturing and Design principles.
- Attend programme meetings at all levels and present where applicable.
- Feasibility of all designs to suit manufacturing build requirements - Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Build process strategy for manufacturing.
- Planning, developing and implementation of all written Processes for manufacturing.
- Planning, developing and implementation of all tooling, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing.
- Process Capability of all processes and equipment, including Dimensional Management applications.
- Quality Planning and Analysis for Manufacturing.
- Ensure adherence to Integrated Production System (IPS) deliverables.
- Manage technical issues and escalate where appropriate.
- Support virtual build events, raising and managing issues where appropriate.
- Support physical builds at Assembly Plant locations (Solihull & Coventry), raising and managing issues where appropriate.
- Developing system logic for lineside equipment
- Relevant previous experience of Manufacturing / Engineering processes, tools and techniques including consistent delivery of productivity targets in Manufacturing
- Experience in the application of a logical approach to Problem Solving
- An individual who is results driven with the ability to deliver operational plans in a highly demanding environment
- An individual with the ability to prioritise their work load
- A good communicator with the ability to communicate complex ideas
- An effective team player who supports team members
- Flexible approach to job responsibilities and working hours
- Ideally educated to degree level in Manufacturing or a similar engineering discipline
- Knowledge of and involvement in the product development phase
- Understanding of IPS requirements & Lean Manufacturing
