Job Description - Prototype Parts Analyst

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Prototype Parts Analyst to join a fast-paced engineering logistics environment supporting pre-production vehicle builds. This role plays a critical part in ensuring prototype components are delivered on time to support engineering and manufacturing activities across multiple vehicle programmes.
The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers, engineering teams, logistics operations, and programme stakeholders to coordinate the supply and movement of non-released prototype parts. The role requires strong supplier management, logistics planning, data analysis, and stakeholder communication skills to ensure successful prototype build events with zero disruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage delivery commitments from external suppliers to support prototype build schedules
- Monitor and maintain accurate delivery promise data for all prototype parts
- Escalate supply or logistics issues that could impact build timing or vehicle readiness
- Coordinate transport collections using the most cost-effective and efficient shipping methods
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Chair supplier review meetings to track delivery performance and resolve supply concerns
- Support engineering material exports and supplier assembly activities aligned to build requirements
- Coordinate with internal manufacturing, tooling, and 3D printing teams to secure production slots
- Present programme delivery updates and part supply status to senior stakeholders
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within engineering logistics operations
- Support prototype build activities and wider departmental objectives as required

- Delivery promises entered within agreed timeframes
- On-time delivery performance for prototype build schedules
- Zero prototype build stoppages related to part supply
- Zero point-of-fit losses during prototype build events
- Effective supplier performance management and issue resolution

Skills and Experience Required
Essential
- Experience managing supplier delivery schedules within manufacturing, engineering, or logistics environments
- Experience supporting prototype or pre-production build activities
- Knowledge of transport planning and logistics coordination
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to analyse and interpret logistics and supply chain data
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience working to operational KPIs and delivery targets
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
Desirable
- Knowledge of engineering logistics systems such as SAP, GPIRS, or CMMS
- Experience using SharePoint, Tableau, or Macros
- Understanding of modern logistics technologies and continuous improvement methodologies
