The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for identifying, onboarding, and developing new sales accounts, while also supporting the ongoing growth of existing accounts within the building products sector. This role plays a critical part in expanding the company's market presence, driving revenue, and contributing to the strategic direction of the business. The BDM will work closely with the General Manager and the R&D team to introduce innovative products that are responsive to customer needs and competitive insights, ensuring our product offering remains industry-leading and commercially relevant.
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets and sectors. • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new accounts, ensuring a seamless onboarding process into the business. • Develop and execute tailored growth plans for each new account, focusing on long-term value and relationship building. • Support and enhance the performance of existing customer accounts through regular engagement, solution-based selling, and identifying upsell opportunities. • Work in close partnership with the R&D team to assess market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback. • Support the creation and introduction of new products by providing commercially driven insights and feedback from the market. • Provide support in covering additional regions or accounts as required, in alignment with the General Manager and overall business needs. • Maintain a flexible and proactive approach to regional management to ensure consistent service levels across the business
Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the building products or related industry. • Strong commercial acumen with a customer-centric mindset. • Ability to analyse market trends and customer requirements to inform strategy and product development. • Effective relationship builder with energetic & strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills. • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently and as part of a wider team. • Willingness to travel and support various regions as required.
