Join a leading automotive engineering team in Warwickshire as a CFD Engineer, focusing on thermal analysis for full vehicle systems. The role involves managing and maintaining simulation models, supporting Lead Engineers, and resolving complex technical issues to ensure vehicle components and systems are robust under thermal conditions. Candidates should have strong expertise in thermal CFD analysis, ideally using StarCCM+, excellent report writing and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across CAE, testing, and technical teams. A degree in a technical discipline is required, with experience in climatic wind tunnels or whole vehicle thermal validation considered advantageous.
Duties:
The Thermal CFD team provides specialized skills in fluid dynamics through computer modeling techniques. This covers full vehicle thermal analysis to ensure the components and systems are robust to their thermal environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Lead Engineers to managing their projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision.
- Managing and maintaining the simulation models for completeness and quality.
- Communicating issues, developing and supporting their resolution.
Essential
- An excellent understanding of thermal CFD analysis and thermal processes ideally using StarCCM+.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- The ability to lead technical issue resolution with the support of the test team, CAE teams, Technical Specialists and any external parties.
Climatic Wind Tunnels and Hot Environment Testing Whole vehicle thermal validation.
Education:
Degree level in a technical subject.
