Overview of the Company:

The client are a leading provider of innovative door solutions, manufacturing a wide range of industrial and commercial door systems across its UK and European operations. With a commitment to quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction, they deliver tailored solutions to meet diverse customer needs. The business UK Spare Parts Centre supports both internal and external customers by ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality spare parts.


Main purpose of the role:

The Head of Sales will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and executing the UK sales strategy for the Industrial UK & UK Spare Parts Centre. This senior position will drive revenue growth, strengthen market presence, and establish long-term customer partnerships. The role requires close collaboration with the Head of Operations to ensure we deliver outstanding customer outcomes. This role will also require close collaboration with the UK sales leaders of wider groups business sales leaders and the European business entities to align sales strategies, share resources & market intelligence, and ensure seamless delivery of projects and services. The successful candidate will lead by example, building a results-driven sales culture that secures sustainable growth while delivering against sales targets, revenue goals, and profitability objectives and will foster a culture of collaboration.

Primary Objectives:

Sales Strategy & Business Growth

  • Develop and implement a UK sales strategy alongside senior business leaders.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities through end clients, architects/specifiers, main contractors, and trade partners.
  • Build a strong pipeline of industrial door projects to ensure sustainable growth, ensuring all information is captured within the CRM and kept up to date for informed decision-making.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to shape proactive sales strategies.
  • Drive margin improvement through effective pricing, negotiation, and value-based selling.

Cross-Functional & Group Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with UK sales leaders across the wider group of associated businesses and the European business entities to align sales strategies, share market intelligence, leverage cross-selling opportunities, and drive cohesive growth across the Group.
  • Work with these business units to integrate their product offerings into the sales approach, creating bundled solutions and enhancing customer value.
  • Collaborate with operations, and project management teams to ensure customer needs are met effectively.

Customer & Market Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including UK business leaders, to support customer satisfaction and business growth.
  • Oversee the management of all customer enquiries handled by the Industrial sales team, ensuring responses are timely, accurate, and meet the service standards to maximise customer satisfaction and conversion rates.
  • Attend site visits where required to strengthen customer relationships, ensure project understanding, and support smooth delivery alongside the dedicated Operational team.
  • Establish relationships with contractors to support the supply and fit service business model, ensuring high-quality installation services.
  • Identify key industry events, exhibitions, and trade shows and act as a senior ambassador.

Sales Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide inspirational and influential leadership and coaching to the Industrial Projects sales team to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Provide clear direction on market approach, customer engagement, and pricing strategy.
  • Promote a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and professional growth.

Commercial Reporting
  • Deliver agreed annual sales targets to ensure the business meets or exceeds growth objectives.
  • Monitor key sales performance indicators (KPIs), identify opportunities to improve conversion, pipeline management, and implement strategies to drive profitable growth.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and market intelligence to senior leadership, highlighting performance against targets and recommending actions to increase market share and revenue.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to maintain the competitive edge

Qualifications - Skills and Characteristics
Experience required for the role

Essential Experience & Skills
  • Proven senior sales leadership experience within the industrial door industry (or closely related building products sector).
  • Strong track record of delivering sales growth, exceeding budgets and managing key customer relationships
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Commitment to delivering exceptional service and solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of industrial door solutions, routes to market, and project sales cycles.
  • Experience developing pipelines via end clients, specifiers, contractors, and trade partners.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to balance revenue growth and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and ability to drive adoption across a sales organisation.
  • Ability to drive cultural change, instil best practice, and build a high-performance sales function.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multiple business units or stakeholders, ideally with experience working with organisations that have worked effectively within the UK construction sector.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
