The Vehicle Engineering Team are responsible for gateway delivery and sign-off vehicles which meet our customers' needs. This is achieved through target setting and delivery (Attribute Integration), Geometric optimisation to deliver targets (Geometric Integration) and compatibility of our software systems to deliver customer features (Systems/Features Integration).
Vehicle Engineering also help deliver the engineering Test & Development schedule/plan to achieve physicals signoff, and whilst this role does not cover Test & Development preparation/readiness, there is an element of crossover to ensure Final Engineering Signoff can be achieved with the correct physical assets.
This role is for a new branch, specifically developed for Expert Specialist Users which is going after specialised applications with Governments / Emergency services/Charities/NCO's.
This role will require out of the box thinking and innovation to develop the product offering to meet cost/performance needs which are different to the existing luxury car offer.
This is a high visibility engineering role interacting with the wider enterprise partners, Engineering Attributes, Export Teams, Marketing & Legal, CoCs (Centres of Competence), and Programme Delivery Teams. These teams work together in an AGILE cadence of Technical Group Leaders, Chapter Group leads and Program Group Leads.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities to include:
Define/Deliver Engineering Targets and Sign-Off for the programme. Depending on the phase of the programme this can include:
- Leading cross functional geometric integration reviews to demonstrate evidence of goodness across vehicle systems, ensuring failure modes are resolved and lessons learned applied (Geometric Integration).
- Lead functional systems integration and compatibility systems reviews to deliver customer features to quality (Systems Integration
- Drive attribute development activities to ensure robust target achievement and highest level of engineering signoff integrity by VSSO (Attribute Integration)
- Lead coordination of engineering activities to overcome incompatibles to meet programme milestones (via Engineering Guild, ESO and Panel Chart processes)
- Support delivery of in-flight programmes to Plant Nitra, including support for LRR Reviews
WHAT you'll need to be and demonstrate:-
- Strong, structured problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Ability to think outside of the box and innovate ideas / find solutions
- CAD 3DX experience essential
The following awareness and skills are required: -
- Component releasing experience
- Knowledge of attribute target setting and sign off
- Technical knowledge and experience of key vehicle systems and whole vehicle engineering
- Proven ability to work with technical data and x-functional teams to resolve problems
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience
- Technical knowledge of Automotive Platforms
- Working knowledge of AGILE principles & Toolset
